Can it be Summer again, please?
When it comes to Milan, the Fashion Pack take things seriously. Designers showcase collections on the heels of London and New York, meaning that they have to bring their ‘A game’ when it comes to visual creativity. On that note, Fendi didn’t disappoint. Offering a retro nod to the swinging sixties, the elegant silhouette of Audrey Hepburn with an adornment of dropped hems and mustard hues, Lagerfeld proved to the fashion world that he’s still got it.
The brand explained that they wanted their SS13 collection to be a ‘big bang explosion’ and whatever they meant by this, the collection certainly caused ripples amongst fashions biggest names with tweets praising the brands fantastic show. Leather has certainly dug its heels and will be certain to be around well into next season, with Fendi sending sleek brown and often panelled leather down the runway. It’s like the sixties has suddenly become badass and I love it!
There’s nothing more pleasing to a fashionista than to be inspired by a collection and this is something that Fendi has captured so well. I can see my SS13 wardrobe now: a sixties silhouette as seen at Fendi, with pastel hues from Richard Chai, juxtaposed with BCBGMAXAZRIA’s monochrome palette. I’m so excited to see what else Milan has to offer, are you?
